Terms and Conditions (T&C)

Please read these terms carefully before each booking.

Current version

Section 1 Scope and Subject Matter

These Terms and Conditions govern all agreements for the temporary rental of trailers, related accessories, and associated services concluded via meinanhaenger.ch and the related web app. The provider and lessor is MeinAnhänger GmbH ("Lessor"). The offer is intended for natural and legal persons with residence or registered office in Switzerland, or with permissible use in Switzerland. Any conflicting terms of renters apply only if expressly confirmed in writing by the Lessor. Mandatory statutory provisions remain reserved at all times.

Section 2 Booking, Contract Formation and Verification

A user account with accurate and complete information is required for booking. The booking process includes selecting trailer, location and period, entering or verifying customer data, binding confirmation of pricing, and completion of checkout. Input errors can be corrected before final submission. Submitting a booking first creates a time-limited reservation. The rental contract is only concluded once payment has been successfully confirmed and required identity or driving-license verification has been successfully completed or manually approved by the Lessor. The electronic booking confirmation reflects the current status. The Lessor may reject or cancel bookings in cases of failed verification, suspected abuse, or obviously incorrect information.

Section 3 Prices, Payment, Subsequent Charges and Cancellation

All prices are displayed in CHF; the price shown at the time of booking including listed charges applies. Payment is processed via Stripe using currently available methods (currently including TWINT, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa, Mastercard). By booking, the renter authorizes the Lessor to charge the stored payment method for subsequent amounts owed under contract or law (in particular late return, damage, cleaning, administrative effort, fees and fine-forwarding charges). Discount codes may be limited by time, scope, user group, or minimum amount. Free cancellation is only available up to 48 hours before rental start; after that, all or part of the agreed rental price may remain due.

Section 4 Pickup, Return and Documentation Duties

Pickup and return are generally contactless at the specified locations. The renter must fully complete the in-app steps before departure and at return, including photo documentation (front, rear, left, right, hitch) and immediate reporting of visible defects. If visible defects are not reported at pickup, the trailer is deemed accepted in contractual condition. Key/lock processes, location instructions, and return procedures must be followed.

Section 5 Rental Period and Late Return

The rental period is defined by booking start and booking end in the booking confirmation. Exceeding return time results in additional costs according to the applicable tariff and booking terms; started hours may be charged as full late-return hours. If the trailer is not returned on time, the Lessor may take suitable measures to safeguard its rights (including contact attempts, blocking further bookings, and legal action). Statutory claims for further damages remain reserved.

Section 6 Driving Authorization, Operating Rules and Area of Use

The trailer may only be driven by the verified and authorized person named in the account or contract. The renter is solely responsible for compliance with required license category, towing capacity, drawbar load, total weight, and technical limits of the towing vehicle. All applicable Swiss road-traffic provisions apply. Cross-border trips are only permitted if expressly approved in individual cases. The renter is liable for traffic violations, fees, and official orders caused during the rental period.

Section 7 Loading, Load Securing and Accessories

Loading, securing and operation of the trailer are entirely the renter's responsibility. The renter must secure load so that no risk to persons, property or traffic arises and must strictly comply with weight limits. Transported goods are not insured by the Lessor unless explicitly agreed otherwise. Provided accessories must be checked for functionality before use and handled with care.

Section 8 Renter Liability, Damage Reporting and Insurance

The renter is liable for damage, loss, theft, and improper use during the rental period to the extent attributable to the renter. Damage assessment is based in particular on pickup/return records, photo documentation, and technical inspection. Where casco coverage exists, communicated deductibles and exclusions apply; in cases of gross negligence or intent, insurance cover may be reduced or excluded. The renter must report accidents, damage, or breakdowns without delay and take reasonable mitigation measures.

Section 9 Lessor Liability

The Lessor is fully liable within statutory limits for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body, or health. In the event of slight negligence regarding essential contractual obligations, liability is limited to typically foreseeable damage. Liability for indirect damage, consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of use applies only where mandatory law requires it. Mandatory consumer-protection and liability provisions remain unaffected.

Section 10 General Obligations and Conditions of Use

The renter must be at least 18 years of age at the time of booking. The trailer must not be transferred, sublet, or otherwise made available to third parties. Only the person named in the contract is authorized to use the trailer. The renter is obligated to return the trailer in a swept-clean, comparable condition. Severe soiling, residue, or unremoved cargo may result in cleaning charges under Section 3. The maximum permitted speed with a trailer is 80 km/h under Swiss road-traffic law (SVG), unless a lower speed is prescribed on the trailer or by official regulations. The renter must comply with applicable speed limits at all times.

Section 11 Force Majeure

Neither party is liable for failure or delay in performing contractual obligations where such failure results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control (force majeure), including but not limited to natural events, epidemics, governmental orders, strikes, and failures of energy supply or infrastructure. The affected party must promptly notify the other party of the occurrence and expected duration of the event. If a force-majeure event lasts longer than 14 days, either party may withdraw from the affected contract, with any services already provided to be reimbursed pro rata.

Section 12 Final Provisions, Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

If individual provisions of these T&C are wholly or partly invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected. Swiss substantive law applies excluding conflict-of-law rules. The statutory place of jurisdiction applies; contractual jurisdiction clauses apply only insofar as no mandatory venues (in particular under consumer law) prevail. Changes to these T&C are published in their current version on the website. Registered users will be notified by email of material changes. Continued use of the service after amended T&C take effect constitutes acceptance.
