Privacy Policy of meinanhaenger.ch
Here we explain transparently which personal data we process and why.
Current version
1. Controller and Scope
This Privacy Policy explains the type, scope, and purpose of personal-data processing by MeinAnhänger GmbH, Buchenweg 5, 5113 Holderbank AG, Switzerland ("we"). It applies to our website, web app, booking and support processes, and related pre-contractual and contractual interactions. We process data under the revised Swiss Data Protection Act (FADP) and related ordinance. Data-protection inquiries can be sent to: support@meinanhaenger.ch.
2. Which Personal Data We Process
We process in particular the following categories of personal data: (1) account and master data (e.g. name, email, phone, address, date of birth), (2) identity and driving-license data for verification and fraud prevention (including uploaded documents/photos, verification status and logs), (3) booking and contract data (selected trailer, location, rental period, price, communication and process logs), (4) condition and damage documentation (mandatory photos at pickup/return, damage reports), (5) payment and transaction data (Stripe references, payment status, billing data), (6) technical usage data (IP address, timestamps, device/browser details, security logs), and (7) cookie and consent data (e.g. status of the consent cookie).
3. Purposes and Legal Bases of Processing
We process personal data in particular for account creation and authentication, identity and driving-eligibility checks, contract initiation and performance (booking, pickup, return, billing), fraud and abuse prevention, assertion or defense of legal claims, compliance with legal obligations (e.g. accounting and archiving), customer communication (transactional and support emails), and system security and error analysis. Where required for specific processing, we rely on your consent (e.g. optional services via cookie settings), which you may withdraw at any time with future effect.
4. Processors, Recipients and International Transfers
We use carefully selected processors and recipients, in particular for hosting and database operations (Supabase), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery (Resend), error analysis and security monitoring (Sentry), and map embeds (Google Maps; client-side only after corresponding cookie/service consent). Identity and driving-license verification is performed through our own verification process. Data is disclosed to authorities, insurers, debt-collection providers, or legal advisors only where legally required or necessary for legal enforcement. If data is transferred abroad, we ensure an adequate protection level (e.g. adequacy decisions, recognized standard contractual clauses, or recognized frameworks such as the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for certified U.S. companies).
5. Data Security, Retention and Deletion
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures, including role-based access, encryption in transit, logging, backups, and access restrictions. We retain personal data only as long as needed for the relevant purpose. Contract, booking, and billing-related records are generally retained for up to 10 years in accordance with legal requirements. Verification, support, and security-related data are deleted or anonymized in a risk-based and purpose-based manner once no longer necessary and where no statutory retention obligations apply. In case of data-security incidents, we comply with applicable legal notification and information duties.
6. Your Rights
Under Swiss data-protection law, you generally have rights to access, rectification, delivery or transfer of your data, restriction of processing, objection in legally provided cases, and erasure where no legal or overriding legitimate grounds prevent this. Requests can be submitted electronically to support@meinanhaenger.ch; to prevent misuse, we may request proof of identity. We generally respond to requests within 30 days. If you believe your data is processed unlawfully, you may contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
